We’ve recently been working with a company to help develop the filmmaking skills of some of their staff members with our workshops, so that they may start producing video content for social media. On discussing exposure and how cameras work, one staff member told us about a useful video he had come across by Some Stuff Explained.
Although it moves at some pace, the video is a great explanation of how a digital camera captures images. It simply breaks down the three elements that make up the exposure triangle: ISO, shutter speed & aperture and using a really clear animation, explains their relationship. This is one of the better explanations of how this works that we have come across and think that if you want to understand how a digital camera uses light to capture images, you should definitely check it out.
